How to sync your calendar between short term rental and home exchange

If you are listed on Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, or a direct booking site that integrates with a Channel Manager you can sync your calendars to the 48 dots.

Syncing your calendar to 48 dots will:

  • Prompt recommendations when other short term rental hosts have availability at the same time as you

  • Prevent other hosts to request swaps on dates you are booked

STEP 1: Find your iCal link on your short term rental platform

Calendars are synced with something called an ‘iCal’ link. Most sites have this link available as an “Export” feature in the same place you manage your availability.

First, you will need to copy the iCal link from your short term rental site

For example, here is how Airbnb lets you grab your calendar:

  1. Go to Listings and select the listing you want

  2. Go to Pricing and availability > Calendar sync

  3. Click Export calendar

  4. In the Export calendar window, copy the link

Copying a link will be automatically saved in your computer’s clipboard, so you will be ready for the next step.

STEP 2: Add your iCal link to the 48 dots calendar

You will need to have an existing listing on the 48 dots to sync your short-term rental.

Visit your My Homes page

From your My Homes Page, you will see the “Import Calendar” feature as seen below.

Paste your iCal link

Click SAVE

You’re all set! You can now get matched with other hosts to exchange homes when you both have availability!

You will not be able to sync your short term rental calendar with your home swapping calendar! We will use this information to match you with other hosts. You can also get notifications based on location preferences.
